Sales & Events Executive

Where Will You Be Working? 

Bartle Hall is a 4 star Country House hotel with 16 Bedrooms, Extensive Function Space, One Rosette Restaurant & Bar.

The Exciting Opportunity

The Sales & Events Executive contributes to Bartle Hall’s goals and values by supporting the Head of Weddings and Events with increasing the hotel revenue through the conversion of weddings, meetings and events.

What Are We Looking For? 

Suitable applicants are likely to be an existing Sales Executive/ Coordinator with a weddings, meetings and events background in a large organisation or have the right level of experience within a similar sized business who is looking for a new challenge.

As a Sales & Events Executive you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate good business acumen and have the right skills and knowledge to convert enquiries and leads into actual events.
  • Ensure good communication with all guests both verbally and written.
  • Must demonstrate the highest levels of literacy, numeracy, IT and presentation skills.
  • Ensure the efficient organisation of all events large and small, to have meetings with clients in person, over the telephone or internet. To then brief managers and heads of department accurately, clearly and precisely as to the guests requirements.
  • Ensure that the highest possible rates are attained to maximise profit potential through all sales activities. This includes being aware of trends within our industry and monitoring our competitor’s rates and availability.
  • Ensure increasing sales revenue through sales and marketing initiatives with the objective of getting new and repeat business this includes the use of a reputation management tool, social media, PR and the hotel’s property management system; Guestline Rezlynx System.
  • Please note that due to our location a full driving license is required and this role does require evening and weekend work on a rota basis.

Operations Manager

The Operations Manager contributes to Bartle Hall’s goals and values by being directly responsible for all Front of House Operations specifically in relation to Weddings & Events, Restaurant, Bar and Kitchen and by ensuring all Events and Food & Beverage are managed to the best quality, ability and efficiency.

What Are We Looking For? 

Suitable applicants are likely to be an existing Operations or Events Manager with a weddings, meetings and events background or have the right level of experience within a similar sized business who is looking for a new challenge. This is a key position within the Hotel’s organisational structure and the successful candidate will be required to be hard working and committed to this very hands-on role.

As an Operations Manager you will be able to:

  • Have a proven track record of offering guests an exceptional level of service, especially in relation to Weddings & Events and Food & Beverage.
  • To have at least 2 years management or level of experience that demonstrates a clear understanding of how a premium four-star hotel should operate.
  • Confidently manage and host all Weddings & Events and to ensure others do the same in your absence.
  • Have an eye for detail and the highest standards of service and cleanliness.
  • To be able to organize the work of others and provide the required training/ coaching and support.
  • To assist with overseeing all departments within the Hotel on a daily basis and to deputize in the Hotel Manager’s absence.
  • To be able to motivate & lead a team under all sets of circumstances remaining professional at all times, promoting inclusion and developing the individual.
  • To comply with health & safety, UK government regulation, employment law & licensing experience to ensure the business is protected at all times.
  • Must be effective and produce results.

Head Chef

The Head Chef contributes to Bartle Hall’s goals and values by being directly responsible for providing all guests with a level of food quality and service that exceeds their expectation and offers the highest level of hospitality in both Event Catering and Restaurant.

What Are We Looking For? 

Suitable applicants are likely to be an existing Head Chef with at least 2 years’ experience within a Rosette restaurant environment and event catering or have the right level of experience within a similar sized business who is looking for a new challenge. This is a key position within the Hotel’s organisational structure and the successful candidate will be required to be hard working, committed and passionate about this very hands-on role.

As Head Chef you will be able to:

  • Have the highest professional cooking ability, with the passion to commit to constantly learning and building on these skills.
  • Must be able to work hands on and lead a team during both very busy and quiet times.
  • Have great communication skills.
  • Must be able to maintain the highest professional standards at all times even under pressure.
  • Must have good IT skills and be able to respond to guest and company requests in a prompt manner.
  • Have the relevant management experience in busy food led operations.
  • Have a proven track record of the highest standards of guest satisfaction alongside the financial awareness of insuring that the correct costs are controlled and that the revenue is maximised.
  • Be a committed hospitality professional with a passion for great food, wines/beverages and service.
  • Take pride in working with a team of likeminded professionals and be able to keep them fully focused and motivated in achieving the goals and aspiration of the business.
  • To want to develop and challenge oneself on a daily basis.
