Food & Beverage Team Member
We are looking for an enthusiastic Food & Beverage Team Member with a passion for customer service to join a busy F&B and Event environment.
As our F&B Team Member your duties will include:
- The delivery of consistent quality customer experiences in particular for Weddings & Events to the standards set by our Events Manager and Food & Beverage Manager.
- Setting up functions and events.
- Serving Wedding & Events and Hotel guests food & drinks alongside potential bar work.
- To provide a warm and enthusiastic welcome to every guest visiting the hotel.
- Having a sound knowledge of and communicating to customers, information on the range of food & beverages sold in the hotel.
A Food & Beverage team member may work on a wide range of areas within the hotel, including our hotel cocktail bar and 1 rosette restaurant. However, the main part of the role will be within our two event suites which hold up to 200 events per year in particular, Weddings.
Training will be provided so experience for the role is not essential, however efficiency, friendliness and a willingness to learn are key.

Rota based shifts, over a maximum of 5 days per week. Weekend and some evening work will be required. Weekly working hours may vary depending on business levels.

Breakfast / Prep Chef
We are looking for a Breakfast / Prep Chef to join our team and support our morning service. We are a 4* Country House Hotel with 16 bedrooms and a busy wedding & function suite.
The Breakfast Chef will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the breakfasts; meeting the high standards required for food hygiene and food safety.
The quality of food and professionalism of the team is essential, and you will have a key role in providing our guests with a fantastic lasting experience. In addition to serving our delicious fresh breakfasts cooked to order, you will also assist with preparing our event and dinner menus.
The ideal candidate should:
- Have fun cooking and love their job, and be a sociable chef who likes working in a small team.
- Have excellent communication skills both written and oral, and organisational skills.
- Work well under pressure.
- Have good attention to detail.
Shifts will vary depending on business needs with a maximum of 5 days out of 7. Due to the nature of our business this will include weekends.
Sous Chef
Bartle Hall is a 4 star Country House hotel with 16 Bedrooms, Extensive Function Space, One Rosette Restaurant & Bar. Due to the focus of the business on weddings and events, we are looking to recruit someone with a keen interest and previous experience of large scale, high quality event catering.
The Sous chef will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the kitchens in the absence of the Head Chef; meeting the high standards required for food hygiene and food safety.
The quality of food and professionalism of the team is essential, and you will have a key role in supporting the Head Chef to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly.
Main Duties
- Working with the Head chef and supporting them in their role and overseeing the operation of the kitchens in their absence.
- To ensure that all areas under your control satisfy the most stringent hygiene requirements.
- To ensure that all stocks are ordered to the correct quantities, quality and purchase specifications and stored correctly.
- To cook consistently and enthusiastically on a high level, to the Bartle Hall Standard.
- Cooking and preparing for each service and function.
- To enthusiastically give input where required into menu and product development.
- Attend training courses both internal and external as and when required.
- To follows the company’s food safety policy.
- To ensure all kitchen food records are completed on shift as appropriate to the record.
- To have a guest oriented approach to your work with a can do attitude.
- To supervise junior chefs and other members of the kitchen staff
- To monitor the quality of the banquet meal/restaurant food service during the event.
- Being accountable for food stock and kitchen equipment
- Maintain highest standards of smartness, personal hygiene and cleanliness.

Nightporter

A great opportunity has become available to join our expanding team at Bartle Hall.
We are looking for a passionate, customer facing Nights Team Member who will look after our guests in the evenings and overnight along with setting up events, ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness and maintaining the security of the Hotel.
Main Duties
- Setting up rooms and events along with equipment required.
- Cleaning duties and ensuring the Hotel is ready and presentable for the next day.
- Security and safety checks.
The ideal candidate should:
- Due to the nature of our business, experience working in a 4/5* Hospitality venue is preferred.
- Able to provide great customer service whilst also showing passion and pride in what you do.
- Must be able to work hands on during both very busy and quiet times and to take own initiative where appropriate.
- Have great communication skills.
- Must be able to maintain the highest professional standards at all times.
Requirements:
- Due to our location a full driving license is recommended.
- Due to the nature of the role, reliability and the ability to work as lone worker is key.
- At least 1 year or similar level of experience in events and hospitality is desirable.
Hours of work:
*7 days on/ 7 days off, Monday – Sunday. Rota based shifts ranging from 8pm-8am to 12am-8am per alternating week. *
